The Reasons Behind My Website Closure and My Plans for the Future

Closing a website is never an easy decision. It feels like closing a chapter of a story you poured your heart into. Today, I want to share the honest reasons why I am shutting down my website, what challenges led me here, and what I hope to do next. If you have ever struggled to keep a project alive or wondered what happens when passion meets reality, this story might resonate with you.

Why I Couldn’t Keep the Website Running
Running a website is more than just having a domain and hosting. It requires constant energy, creativity, and resources. For a long time, I tried to keep up with everything, but some key challenges made it impossible to continue.
Lack of Time to Create Engaging Content
One of the biggest hurdles was finding time to create videos. Videos are essential for engagement today, especially to connect with an audience and boost sales. Unfortunately, as I have taken on more responsibility in my full time job, creating videos became increasingly difficult, and I couldn’t dedicate the hours needed to produce quality video content regularly. Without fresh and engaging videos, the website’s traffic and interest started to drop.
Financial Strain from Advertising and Maintenance
Advertising was another major expense. To attract visitors, I invested in ads, hoping to turn views into sales. But the returns were not enough to cover the costs. Over time, this led to significant financial losses. On top of that, renewing the website domain and hosting fees added to the expenses. Without sales coming in, it became clear that continuing to pay for ads and website upkeep was unsustainable.
The Emotional Toll of Struggling Without Results
Beyond the practical issues, there was an emotional weight. Watching a project you care about struggle to grow can be disheartening. The lack of sales and engagement felt like a constant reminder that my efforts weren’t reaching enough people. This emotional drain made it harder to stay motivated and keep pushing forward.
What I’m Doing Next and My Hopes for the Future
Even though I am closing the website for now, this is not the end of my journey. I am shifting my focus to platforms where I can connect more directly and with less overhead.
Staying Active on TikTok
TikTok has become a space where I can share content more easily and interact with an audience in real time. It requires less setup and financial investment compared to running a full website. I plan to keep creating videos there, building a community, and sharing what I love in a more manageable way. It may not be regular at the moment, and it may only be during school holidays but there is a wonderful community I have built up there and I hope to continue to be part of it.
Dreaming of Reopening the Website One Day
Closing the website is a pause, not a goodbye. I hope that one day, when the timing and resources align better, I can reopen it. This break will give me time to rethink the approach, learn from past experiences, and come back stronger with fresh ideas and better strategies.
What I’ve Learned from This Experience
Time management is crucial: Creative projects need dedicated time to thrive.
Financial planning matters: It’s important to balance investment with realistic expectations.
Engagement drives success: Without connecting with an audience, even the best ideas can struggle.
It’s okay to pause: Taking a step back can open doors to new opportunities.
A Message to Those Facing Similar Challenges
If you are running a project and feeling overwhelmed, know that you are not alone. Sometimes, stepping back is the wisest choice. It allows you to recharge, reassess, and come back with renewed energy. Keep your passion alive, but also be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned.
Thank you for being part of this journey so far. I look forward to sharing new chapters with you in the future, whether on TikTok or when the website returns.
